On March 30, 2026, at the Bangsaen Heritage Hotel, Chonburi, Associate Professor (Special) Pol. Lt. Gen. Dr. Narong Kulnithet, Chairperson of the Ph.D. and Master’s Programs in Forensic Science at Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University and Project Leader, chaired a Public Hearing to elevate consumer protection standards. This event was part of the "Consultancy Project for Monitoring, Auditing, and Evaluating Key Issues in Consumer Protection" (2nd Session for the Fiscal Year 2025).

General Sitthichai Makkoonchon, Member of the Monitoring and Evaluation Committee (MEC) for Consumer Protection, presided over the opening ceremony. He was accompanied by a team of experts, academics, and project coordinators who shared visions, guidelines, and strategies for promoting and protecting consumer rights within the broadcasting, television, and telecommunications sectors, specifically addressing the challenges of the digital transformation era.

The forum was attended by representatives from the public and private sectors, academia, civil society, and local residents from Chonburi and surrounding areas. Participants engaged in extensive discussions, highlighting issues and providing recommendations on consumer protection in the digital age—focusing on telecommunications, digital media, and ensuring fair access to services for all citizens.

All feedback and suggestions gathered from this hearing will be analyzed and synthesized to form policy recommendations. These insights will support relevant agencies in responding effectively to public needs, ultimately leading to a more efficient, transparent, and sustainable consumer protection system.
