Public Hearing 1

On March 27, 2026, at the Ratchasupamit Hotel in Kanchanaburi, Assoc. Prof. (Spec.) Pol. Lt. Gen. Dr. Narong Kulnithet, Chairperson of the Ph.D. and Master’s Programs in Forensic Science at Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University and Project Leader, inaugurated a Public Hearing to elevate consumer protection standards. This event was held under the "Consultancy Project for Monitoring, Auditing, and Evaluating Key Issues in Consumer Protection (1st Session, Fiscal Year 2025)."

The ceremony was presided over by General Sitthichai Makkoonchon, Member of the Monitoring and Evaluation Committee (MEC) for Consumer Protection. He was joined by a team of experts, academics, and project coordinators from both Dr. Narong’s and General Sitthichai’s teams. Together, they shared visions, guidelines, and strategies for promoting and protecting consumer rights within the broadcasting, television, and telecommunications sectors amidst the digital transformation.

The forum was attended by representatives from the public and private sectors, academia, civil society, and local residents from Kanchanaburi and neighboring areas. Participants engaged in an extensive exchange of ideas, highlighting challenges and offering recommendations on consumer protection in the digital age—with a specific focus on telecommunications, digital media, and ensuring fair access to services for all citizens.

This public hearing serves as a vital platform for gathering empirical data from stakeholders to enhance the efficiency of consumer protection mechanisms. All feedback and suggestions will be analyzed and synthesized to formulate policy recommendations. These insights will support relevant agencies in effectively addressing public needs, ultimately fostering a consumer protection system that is efficient, transparent, and sustainable.
